I doubt B & H, knowingly, pulled a bait & switch. Why not call or chat with them. Make sure you do that prior to 2:00 PM today, because they close around 2:00 till Sunday.

I decided to buy Portrait Pro "Studio" version which is being sold directly for $59.95 on their website. (Portrait Professional).
I had some credits with B&H so I decided to buy it thru them.
Frankly I did not pay attention to the full write up on the sale as it said Portrait Pro 12.
Version 15 has been out since 9-15-2015 from threads on various websites.
When I went to download the software there was a request to upgrade to v15 for an additional $44.95.
The upgrade said that it was normally $59.95 but because I had v12 they would reduce the purchase by $15.00 which would bring the total to $104.90.

I wrote to both B&H and Portrait Professional and neither responded with even an auto reply that they received the e-mails I sent.

Question:
Has anyone purchased v15 directly or indirectly from PP and was it for $59.95 or did they pull a bait and switch and ask for more money of $44.95.

I am trying to keep an open mind with B&H as I have used them for years without a single problem and want to make sure I understand where and who the problem lies with.

Thanks,
Greg

It is clear by your own admission that you didn't verify the version you were getting but (and this is a B&H issue), you are 'Not Satisfied'. They may give you a refund.
I have NEVER had any issues with B&H and I don't see why you should either.
Call them directly and address the misunderstanding but remember too, they DID sell what they advertised. YOU were the one who erred, not them.

I think that if B&H was selling an older, discontinued version of software, they should have stated that, and given the cost of the upgrade to the latest version up front.

I don't see why you are upset. It says upfront that it is v12. It's your responsibility to do the research to find out about the product, not anyone else.

I don't claim to be perfect, but it's only common sense to research a product before you invest money in it.

There is one other situation that added to the problem, on the Portrait pro web site, the $59.95 buy (Studio) it does not say what version you are buying, having said that I guess I should have searched the web to verify the version.
Therefore, I wrongly thought that what B&H was selling was the up to date version.
The old Reagan motto, Trust but Verify,

Greg

If you research their website then it does show what version they are selling. A website specifically selling their S/W product is always going to be selling the latest version. Although most offer other versions and is stated so. Check the "editions" tab at the top and it shows all the levels of the S/W.

But it would be to B&H's advantage to state it wasn't the latest version to avoid this very type of misunderstanding.

We are sorry for your confusion. There are two PortraitPro Studio products on our site:
PortraitPro Studio Max 12 (Download)
B&H # POPPSMDL MFR # PPSTUDIOMAXL-EN-12.0.0-SD $119.95
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1107002-REG/

and

PortraitPro Studio 12 (Download)
B&H # POPPS12DL MFR # PPSTUDIOL-EN-12.0.0-SD $59.95
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1107000-REG/

I'm sorry there was any confusion but IMO "PortraitPro Studio 12" is unambiguous.

While I sense sarcasm, your rationale is night and day to the issue, this is why so many people get turned off to these types of forums. I simply asked a question if someone else had any dealing with this issue or product.

If I'm not mistaken what you asked was "...or did they pull a bait and switch..."
Maybe this too this is why people get turned off to these types of forums?

On Amazon, if they are selling software which is not the latest version, they put "(OLDER VERSION)" in the description.
