CT' Digitalphoto bit the dust last year. They were super tech with typical discussion of photography being 20 page large format pages. Something about rolling up a paper copy and sticking in your pocket and reading to fill wait in line moments that can not be replace with a squint to read screen. Print media of all types are blowing in the wind and will be soon out of sight. Good/Bad... no, just change.

LFingar and I agree.

Looks like American Photo is also on its way out. I once subscribe to both of them. Does anyone remember Modern Photography magazine?

I do. Subscribed for several years until it folded, somtime in the '80s me thinks. I really liked that magazine including the contributing editors. I did not care for Popular Photography so never subscribed.

Yes, I saw that last night. Even their site is going away. I can't say I'm surprised, though. I currently have a subscription only because they offered it to me for $5.00. I seldom read it, just skimming through it, instead.

So sad, but we could see it coming by its thinness. Was like watching a friend dying of consumption.

I've read it (and Modern Photography which Pop Photo absorbed) my entire life—and I'm a wartime baby.

Rest in peace, Pop (and Modern) and thank you for so many great years—and to the great columnists who taught us so much over the decades.

I guess the rest of my subscription is gone. Not a lot of money but I am retired and every penny means something!

The NYTs and others often generate their articles to keep their readers coming back..

When this political spin ends, so will many papers,,,

'Several magazines are on Amazin Kindle for Free and it is a recent selection..

I saved all my Popular Photography magazines from when I first subscribed in 1978 . There are boxes full of them in the attic . I suppose they are suddenly " antiques " now . Everything in print is going the way of Kodachrome .
Mama don't take my Popular Photography away ......
I couldn't resist ! lol

Popular and Modern, two of my favorite publications.

I was a subscriber to Shutterbug for many years. I enjoyed the it when it was a huge magazine like the old Life Magazine. It always had helpful articles and was a big help back in my film days. Then they downsized the issues to a smaller format and I started to notice the change. Mostly in advertising and fewer articles that are mostly geared for digital ( and I dont mind that ) but also geared for more professional photographers that have mostly high end equipment that an avg guy like me would only dream of owning. That includes the big focus on Photoshop CC5-6 which are way out of most consumers grasp. I wont be renewing Shutterbug. Sad to see this business go. As for newspapers..... stop buying them because instead of the "Who , What , When , and Why of things we have to put up with the "spin" of it.

Typical. The Internet has killed lots of publications. Why subscribe to a magazine when you can get more information online for free? Circulations have dwindled, online services have grabbed the advertisers, so magazines have been squeezed out. They started dying when they could no longer afford a knowledgeable staff of writers and reviewers.

I used to subscribe to Popular Photography, Modern Photography, Petersen's Photographic Magazine, American PHOTO, Rangefinder, GEO, National Geographic, and a bunch of photo trade publications. The only one I still get is National Geographic.

Outdoor Photographer? I subscribed for their first 10 years...and then dropped it. Art Wolfe and George Lepp were contributors. I still have my Lepp Macro Bracket for shooting macros with multiple flash units. I've used it for digital...
