Sorry to say, but the march issue of Popular Photography magazine was the last issue, they are closing their "doors".
Are you sure about that? I just got a renewal offer in the mail.

The first issue appeared in 1937. Popular Photography was based in New York City.[2] The magazine was owned by different companies. One of them was Ziff-Davis Publishing Company.[2] The magazine was sold by Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. to Bonnier in 2009. The publisher is Steven B. Grune and the editor-in-chief is Miriam Leuchter.[3] In early March 2017, the magazine folded; the March/April 2017 issue is the final one.
On their web site
http://www.popphoto.com they are still selling subscriptions to the print version and no mention of March/Apr being last.

That is sad. I get that, Shutterbug and outdoor photographer. Everything is going on line.
So this wont be available anymore.
Not surprising. Changing times. There is so much available on-line, much of it for free, that print magazines of all types are finding it hard to stay in business. Same thing for newspapers. Same thing is happening to stores that can't or won't adapt to the internet age.

It is very hard for the print media to stay in business - it has been a vicious cycle - readership drops, and advertisers pull out. Lately only a few of the big advertisers buy big space - but they know that most people considering buying expensive equipment will either know to head to the major stores or will go to their nearby Best Buy... Probably those hurt the most by the lack of advertising space will be the small tour operators who advertise in the back. Knowing that an operator purchased ad space was somewhat reassuring, right or wrong, that they were financially stable and in it for the long haul. Anyone can build a website.
Well - it will make forums like this one and our local camera clubs that much more valuable for serious photographers!
I work for a newspaper and it's very sad to hear this. So many lost jobs.
