This is why you should shoot raw. It's still an awesome shot and I don't have an eagle image even close to that. But I did download that last image and play with it and really couldn't do much with it.

With the 1.4x you will only get 5 focus points; I think it's called center point expanded. Without the extender I usually shoot with the 9 or 15 points. If you shoot from some distance it will be hard to grab focus on the eagle because of so much dark on the body. I hope to be able to lock on against a nice blue sky and then track it in AI-servo. Don't know if that helps.
