This special, Limited Edition version of the Nikon Df was NOT exported from Japan so they are very hard to come by here, naturally no Nikon USA warranty on them, but I have always liked the model and wanted one for my collection and I finally got my hands on one directly from Japan, brand new in the box kit with the matching Special Edition lens. I will keep shooting my personal Df, but this one will be displayed unused right next to my never used 1984 Canon F1N Gold lettered Olympics Edition I bought when shooting the 1984 Olympics in LA. They will make a nice set I think!

This is where I found mine, very hard to translate to English though:

http://www.yodobashi.com/%E3%83%8B%E3%82%B3%E3%83%B3-NIKON-Nikon-Df-50mm-f-1-8G-Special-Gold-Edition%E3%82%AD%E3%83%83%E3%83%88-Nikon-Df-%E3%83%9C%E3%83%87%E3%82%A3-%E3%83%96%E3%83%A9%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF-Gold-Edition%EF%BC%8B%E4%BA%A4%E6%8F%9B%E3%83%AC%E3%83%B3%E3%82%BA%E3%80%8CAF-S-NIKKOR-50mm-f-1-8G-Special-Gold-Edition-%E3%80%8D-35mm%E3%83%95%E3%83%AB%E3%82%B5%E3%82%A4%E3%82%BA/pd/100000001002555688/

Right now it says they are sold out of it.

Thanks for posting the link.
My inability to read it is a good thing.
It is a great looking camera. Congratulations.

Nice, wonderful, but just another not useful show and tell posting. Still like looking at it though. And, by the way, these are not hard to get here, they come up on ebay ALL THE TIME from time to time. Make sure you get the anniversary addition of the D5, D500, and the holy trinity that Nikon MAY be releasing. You will need that for your showcase also. It would be another useless product you could display in the store since you have no plans on using it other than having it sit in a display case and go down in value when digital cameras are all replaced.

What? all the time from time to time? Well, which is it? Because they do not mean the same thing. And your whole post comes up green....

He has a business and he can have collectors edition camera to display if he wants. Wouldn't be the first business to have a nice collectors edition display.

Very nice MT! I would to collecting one too! (Just dreaming, too much money!) I have a black Df for three years and very happy with that.
Do you have any collection of the "gold Alpa 11si and the gold Leica M-series body" ?

Yes, it's nice having something unique - or close to it - especially when it's something you like. I have a Russian TLR camera that's a 1980 Olympic model.

Of course they mean the same thing. They always appear occasionally.

That reminds me of the line, "No one goes there anymore. It's too crowded."

That is a beautiful camera. I think you should take one picture with it. A shot of that 1984 Canon would be nice.

I'm happy you were able to get your hands on it.

Correction: I have a black/chrome Df not black.

You've given me an idea. I'm gonna buy a new Maserati and park it on the front lawn . . . . . .

Not a bad idea, you can avoid those $2000 oil changes by not driving it!
