I think that you did a great job of capturing the moment and your photos are excellent. They do nee a little post processing but most photos do. Here is one that I worked on a little. My question is, who put the balloons in the box?
The doctor wrote the sex down on a piece of paper, then folded it up. The expectant mother's sister opened the note, bought the balloons, & put them in the box.
She posted a few pics on Facebook & everybody loved them. They thought their expressions were priceless. Loved how proud daddy was to find out he got his boy......

you did a wonderful job, with a little curves and levels adjustments to make them "POP" more they would be wonderful.
I would have liked to see the box decorated a little more, like wrapped like a huge present, but since the Auntie decorated the box, that was a little out of your hands.

I agree. Fill flash would have made them pop. Er! the photos not the ballones.
here are a few of the originals...... edit if you like!
I think they are perfect.
They are completely natural and record an important part of the cycle of life of a loving family.
Get too arty and the mood is destroyed in favour of the by now worn out, hackneyed Hollywood look.
Stay real, feleekshia. It is a rare commodity these digital days.

No, they are not perfect. They are natural and capture the moment well indeed. But perfect photos have level horizons, better contrast and more ooomph. These images have a lot of potential and the photographer should not be disappointed with the results, as all the faults can be corrected. Much worse is to take technically perfect photos that are boring.
By the way, these 'originals' are too small to do anything with. They are only 600 x 400 or so pixels - less than one quarter of a megapixel.

If you have PSE 10 do a gradian map with sunset colors and then enhance light . After that do an orion effect under guided editor and your pics will look better but the memory of the moment will be wounderful if you do no more than look at the pics. We forget the reason behind photography is letting us reconnect with the memories.
You get an A+ in that aspect.
Sorry but this edit makes the photos bad in my opinion. Looks overdone to me. I much prefer the originals to this. No expert, not even an advanced amateur, just know it does not appeal to my eye. Sorry.
I'll do some editing for you, but you'll have to check the store original box when you upload them here.
I love it when someone does something different, so I have to agree that #4 is brilliant. I know a lot of you don't like black and white mix so I wonder if this helps to focus ( no pun intended ) on what sex the baby is.
What's your thought!
I think you captured the moment perfectly
I'm pleased you liked the colour mix, if you want any others done let me know.
