My first digital was the 1st Generation Canon Rebel, EOS 300D (or DS6041) I bought back in 2003. When it first came out it was touted as the first connsumer-grade digital camera that could be had for under $1000 ($999.00 with kit lens). It has a whopping 6.3 MP sensor and came with a very crappy 18-55mm lens. I think the shooting speed is measured is seconds-per-frame and not frames-per-second LOL. I still have this camera, and even occasionally shoot with it just for old time sake. For just stuff you want to paste to Facebook it's not too bad actually.

Bought a Nikon Coolpix 2100 in 2003 when we were planning to cross the country in our pickup truck from NC to OR. I shot pictures with the Coolpix and with my Canon Rebel film camera. Unfortunately I lost a lot of the Coolpix shots of the great journey. Then it was the Canon xt (8 mp) and now the Canon T5.

My first digital camera was an Olympus 3.2 MP point and shoot that I got used on Ebay on 2006. It was a small camera but it had a sensor to die for and colors that were fantastic. I used it for 5 years and it gave up the ghost. But did I learn a lot and got tons of great photos considering I must have made millions of shots out of that used camera. It was a 5x zoom and was boatloads of fun.

I bought a toy digital at a toy store. It was quickly replaced by a Kodak DX7630.

I decided to go cheap just to try digital. I got Fuji FinePix 2650. Two pixels. I still have it and I'm about to give it to my great grands. Here's the last picture I took with it to make sure it still works before I pass it on. That was my first. The ones I have now are my last.

Wow, only two pixels! That has to win the prize for the lowest resolution camera ever LOL

(Yeah, I know you meant mega pixels)

My first digital camera was a Canon S30 point and shoot camera. It was built like a tank (all metal) and took 3 mp photos.

Cannot remember the name but it was the size of a credit card and fit into the PCMCIA slot on my laptop. 740K and it took really useless crappy pictures.

Kodak Easy Share. I think it was 3 or 4 megapixel. If I recall I think I bought it because it had Carl Zeiss lens. I may be confusing that with something else I bought later.

I hated it because it had a horrible lag time between pressing the shutter button and actuating the shutter. You couldn't take an action shot because it would fire when the action was already passed.

A Canon S50 point & shoot. It could produce 5mp RAW CRW files. Shutter lag was my biggest complaint.

Mine was the counterpart to your Canon. The Nikon D50. It is still like brand new and I shoot with it often. If my D50 gave up the Ghost I would buy a used body to replace it. Many DSLR's, Point and Shoots and even Mirrorless cameras (Nikon V1) came after my Nikon D50 purchase but the D50 will always be my mainstay camera.

Gateway 5 megapixel camera, free with a printer. I have pictures of an entire European vacation taken with the thing.
