Just got this in my email, not something you see everyday, liked the comment "the only warships you don't see in the picture are the four nuclear powered subs providing protection"

The ones of the stealth jet are from the production of the movie Stealth in 2004

It's quite telling when you have Jessica Biel sitting in the cockpit...

In today's world large groupings of ships like this will be few and far between. Why? One sneak-first strike with a nuke and the whole fleet would be gone.

Our huge carriers work well against those without the resources to go after them. In a war with a power equal or nearly equal we would be better off with a bunch of smaller carriers scattered over a huge area of ocean. Lose one carrier like our giants or lose one small carrier with 2-3 more still out there to strike back.

Anyone remember the photograph from Dec 1944 in WW II they named "Murderers Row"? If Japan had developed an atomic bomb that kind of grouping would have never happened. And, it was just 3rd Fleet http://www.navyhistory.org/2015/09/historical-murderers-row-photograph-at-ulithi-update/

This is rather old & not true as Darkroom317 pointed out. Here's another link to fictional aircraft. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fictional_military_aircraft.

Hi all, I saw the email and didn't realize that part or all (I really don't know) was from a movie. I was just amazed at all the ships and especially the carriers. You have to give me a break here, the US has more planes on one carrier than our whole air force has.

If anyone knows if some of the pictures are correct, I would like to know.

Did not know that the ship was built from scrap from the trade towers. Great story!

As a Navy vet who spent some time refueling those ships from an Oiler, I appreciated the images. Thanks for sharing!

Impressive to see three carrier battle groups at sea in one formation . But the FA-37 is total fiction !
