I have had them all: Linhofs, Rolleis, Leicas, Nikons. Alpas, Graflex XLRF's, and Zeiss Super Ikontas. I would not give up my Sony A57 for any or all of them. My desktop computer is the finest photo lab a photographer could want, and it is FREE. Feel free to blow holes in my thinking.
Go back??? I never left, nor ever thought of leaving.
Leica IIIf, Nikon F, F5, Nikkormat FTN, Nikonos, Bronica C, Bronica SQ-AM, Hasselblad 500C, Graphic View II, Rapid Omega. Nope, I'll never leave them. Same goes for my two Jobo processors. To say nothing of the enlargers I have.
I just added a few digitals, D700 and D800e.

No way, I enjoyed the film cameras but they cannot compare with the convenience of the digital world. No way would I go back.

If your thinking works for you, then there are NO holes to blow in it.
I shoot mostly digi. There is no way I could do with film what I do with digi, especially when I'm being paid to shoot. I'm not looking back.
That said, in October I bought a new to me film camera. I still shoot film just not in a professional capacity, at least not yet!
I was borrowing a Canon EOS 1n. That camera is so awesome for film still photography that I bought my own so I can shoot it side by side with my digi cameras using all my AF lenses that I use on my latest Canon bodies. Awesome lenses on both bodies!!
I don't shoot film for the experience, I shoot it for the film look.
Not gonna put any rain on your Sony parade, if that's what you want but those that shoot film have their own parade and neither yours or theirs is better or worse, if that what works for you!!!

Yes, so I could use my Pentax K-1000!
I have an old Canon AE-1 and I occasionally run a roll of film thru it and keep it clean. Just for fun.
But go back...not so much.
Setting up a darkroom in your bathroom was fun...but at my age...besides if I did that now the wife would make sure my body was never found.
Not really. As much as I love the depth in film prints, I like the conveniences of digital more.

gg, if you keep the darkroom, dark enough, she would not be able to find your body to dispose of it!!!

Maybe my view camera. But it would be a stretch.
I would like to go back and flip a switch where digital never existed.
Overall NO!
I still have some film cameras, a few with memories attached. I found a box of 4x5, 120 and 35 mm film with my other stuff in storage, it is a mix of stuff from 15 to 30+ years old and some sealed cans of chemicals in there also. If I get tempted I will use the lightproof changing bag to load the reels and canister then develop and after drying scan it*. But I doubt if any of that film is good, I just haven't gotten around to cleaning things out.
I am asthmatic, my lungs do not miss the darkroom at all.
