I think my wife and I met this lady on one of our cruises. She was really up in her age, seemed quite eccentric to the point that she seemed to lack the 2's and 3's in her deck, but she was out dancing any chance she had. I was told her family just kept renewing her ticket. No idea who she was, but she could really dance and put down the drinks. More power to her.

Damn, I might look into this myself!

I swore off cruises after about six. Too regimented. After about three nights on a ship I'm ready for a change of scenery. The schedules in port are just that. Scheduled. That's why I went on a cruise in the first place. To get away from daily schedules. But the food, booze, and lovely ladies were great.

Don't do cruises period. Went by boat from S. Africa to England in 1957 and then from Liverpool to Montreal in 1960. First cruise was OK but the second was a bummer. Ran into heavy weather and half the crew were sea sick, myself and ex-wife included. Of course the partying the night before might have helped!

Partying on a cruise? Surely you jest. Oh boy do I have some stories from my single days. I'm not posting them here. Nuff said.

When my husband and I were on a Holland America cruise of Mexico and South America in 2013, there was a woman who lived on board. She had been living there for several years. She didn't have a fancy cabin, but had one without a window. I was told that she would probably have to leave the ship at some time in the future.

I've met people on Royal Caribbean, NCL and Celebrity who live on the ships for extended periods of time. They love the life and feel secure. They still have the ability to see things in port and enjoy the friendships they create with other guests. You don't have to live on Crystal, you can have a great time on most any cruise ship. Much better than living in assisted living or in a nursing home.
