Surely a stone is 14 lbs, isn't it? Even my old lightweight Vanguard supports a massive 4.4lbs. Maybe that's one reason why I got the Gitzo that supports 55lbs and passes the Gene51 test!

I guess it is all about whether you're willing to trust. I'm not about to mount a $7000.00 lens on a 100 dollar tripod. I appreciate your humor Peter. I had a good laugh by your rebuttal. Thanks for that.

God planted rocks there for you.

Thanks. I always wondered about that.

When God said "Go forth and multiply", the rocks in New England heard Him.

I think I'll trust my Gitzo 3530LS /Wimberley WH-200 for my 500 F4. Bet that rock must weigh a bit to pack :)

That hammock looks like the Oben Tripod Hammock from B&H for $11.00.

Make sure you weigh your stone first to ensure it doesn't exceed the load capacity

If you bring the scale, you probably won't need the rock. Just put the scale in the hammock.

And to think I stayed up all night studying for that test. The good news is that I did pass that test with flying colors (Adobe RGB)!
