When Blurb prints a book using my photos they come out slightly darker than seen on my calibrated monitor. I need to create a preset on export to brighten/lighten the darks. It can be done with a change in the tone curve. How do I create this preset?
Further info: it would be better if Blurb corrected the printing (as I do on the my prints) to make up for difference in reflected light from their paper and the brightness of a computer screen, but they do not. It is impractical to make duplicate corrected copies since the photos on file are corrected appropriately for all other printing and display functions.

The basic problem might be that you do not have their printing profile. See if they have one for you. If they do not, you are right that you have to guess at it. I have a similar problem when making jpgs. Since my edited raw is about 2/3 too dark for the exported jpg, I usually increase the exposure by that amount in QuickDevelop. Are you sure you need to adjust the tone curve rather than what I propose?

Along these lines, put the photos you want in the Blurb book into a Collection first, then Select All and use the Quick Develop to increase the exposure by the desired amount. Then use the Collection for the Book. That should do the trick.
Good idea. I will use virtual images and move them to a collection then mass correct them and delete when finished!
Why not ask them for a copy of the color profiles. The use those to adjust your final print image. I am, of course, assuming that your calibrated monitor is truly calibrated.
