Folks, back on my courthouse kick...shot this one while waiting to tour the Jack Daniel's Whiskey Distillery on a warm overcast day.

James, great photo of an interesting courthouse. Thank you for sharing the story about this landmark. I love the education you gave me and I am sure others.

Excellent shot and pp James, beautiful coloured building with a great moody sky.

Thanks Sylvias...the sky was a bit of a challenge. This is one required taking several shots till I got a good balance between light and shadows. And the building is an odd color for a government facility, but a fun color...so maybe that's why they chose it.

A top notch photo of a beautiful building. Well done, James.

Thanks Earl, it was nearly 70 degrees this day, unheard of this time of year but we loved it.

Thanks, you can probably read more meaningful info on Wikipedia about this Courthouse. I appreciate your nice comment from my perspective as a tourist visiting Lynchburg.

It was a spur of the moment to do tour we had to wait for more people to turn up to start tour it took about an hour or so to do. We just received our 2017 calendar and every few months I get a letter from the Tennessee Squires Assocation as I am a Squire and a Plot Owner. And always have a full Jack bottle on hand. As for a dry state I asked at our motel where I could buy a beer after dinner was told I have to drive about an hour out of town to buy beer. I wasn't going to open my Bicentenial Bottle which I still have and probable will not sell so a dry night was had. When in Rome as they say.

Thanks Steve for your interesting story. Hang on to that Bicentienial Bottle awhile, it will surely become more valuable in time. My son-in-law (who was with us) also collects JD memorabilia. He found out he owns some rare (clear liquid) versions of their rye whiskey which was discontinued some time back. Again, enjoyed your story and thanks for sharing it with everyone.

I shot it from this corner which I felt showed it off the best. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks Donna, Lynchburg has become a tourist spot, so getting a clean shoot without cars wasn't going to happen. Still, a fun little town to visit. The folks are very friendly.

I was just wondering if Lynchburg got it's name from all the Lvnchings that took place there years ago??
