Where and what do you shoot in Korea? I shoot a lot of old buildings and even events I use 16 to 20 mm a lot to capture groups in meeting rooms and dinners and so forth. Where do you go in Thailand? I like central Thailand and on up to Chiang Mai area. Bangkok is ok but I really don't care for Pattaya.

Thank you.

Crop will be better for birds just for the extra reach, but among full-frame, 5D3 was about as good as it got in a reasonable size and price, at least until 5D4.

AF is a massive step-up from 6D.

I am sorry, but a crop frame sensor does not give you "more reach." It just scales down size of the field. The 5D Mk III is a great all round camera for just about everything and the image quality is outstanding. I have one, and love it. I would never trade "down" to a 6D. You need rethink this one.

6D is not a crop, it is essentially the same image quality and same sensor size as 5D3. 6D has two advantages over the 5D3 and two only. It is much lighter, and it has wifi. Otherwise 5D3 is more capable, but most of that increased capability is down to better build quality and better AF.

Crop most definitely does give you more reach. a 20 MP full frame and a 20 MP crop will both have the same number of pixels, but that small bird will take up a larger portion of the frame on a crop sensor than a full-frame. That is the reason most serious birders use something like the 7D2 or the new Nikon D500, to get more effective reach.

I personally do not own and have no desire to own a crop sensor. I don't shoot birds or anything else requiring long reach. I don't even own any lenses longer than 100mm and usually shoot with a 35mm or 50mm prime. For the events I like to shoot, the 5D3 is better, but for travel, the 6D is better, MUCH better, because it is so light.

I don't need to "rethink" this one as I understand the pros and cons of larger and smaller sensors rather well, thank you.
