I up graded my D7000 lens from the kit 18-105 VR, to the 18-200 VR ll, and now it is on my D7200, 90%+ of the time, and could not be more pleased. Put my 70-300 4.5-5.6 VR on my D7000, but considering acquiring a 200-500 VR.

The 18-140MM is a very good kit lens! B&H is excellent!!

I have to second that. It's what I have, and I have no complaints about the lens.

Another lens to consider, if it's within your budget to do so, is the 18-300 zoom. It's not a kit lens, but several UHH folks use one and tend to leave it on their cameras nearly all the time. It's been proven to be a decent lens for all around use, and eliminates the need to carry multiple lenses. In fact, Tamron and Sigma also offer the same lens, although I think the Sigma is a 16-300. Both are a little cheaper than the Nikon lens.

I am looking for Nikon D7200 bundle.
42Photo.com offers D7200 & 18-140mm VR lens at $1099.
Costco offers D7200 & AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm VR II and AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm VR Lens, 32GB SD Card, Camera Bag, Extra Battery &2 Year Extended Warranty on Camera Body Only at $1,349.
Which offers are better to me? 42Photo.com is reliable as online seller?
Thank for your suggestion in advance!!

Don't buy anything from 42ndPhoto, they're a scam outfit!

What's difference between kit lens and not kit?

For travelling light, you might want that 18-140 as a "stay on the camera" lens, but you might want to bring along the 35mm 1.8 for those interior non-flash situations, and outdoor night shots.

Camera manufacurers will offer certain cameras with what they refer to as a "kit lens," which is one of their entry level lenses. Generally they are manufactured more cheaply with lighter materials. That way they can offer a complete package so that the purchaser won't have go shopping for a lens. Basically, it's a matter of convenience for the consumer. The Nikkor 18-140 is sometimes offered as a companion lens with the D7100 or D7200, but, IMO, isn't really an actual "kit" lens like the 18-55. Some folks just purchase the camera body then get a lens specific to their needs.

The 42Photo offers is a better deal and in fact it's too good to be true. I heard a lot of bad things about 42Photo.com

Costco is much more reliable and a better deal.

42nd St. is probably grey market. That means Nikon will never repair it even if you want to pay. It also means no Nikon warranty.

Kit lenses come packaged with cameras. They are good lenses but not premium.

You might want to consider that anything you buy from Costco, including electronics, is returnable for just about any reason and you get to see and check it out immediately and you will not have to worry about shipping damage, etc. if you should decide to return it.

The above notwithstanding, I want to add that I have purchased from both Adorama & B&H several times and they are both first rate in my experience.

The Costco package is an excellent value in my mind. I bought my Nikon D90 as a kit with the 18-105 lens and have never regretted it. It's a great all around lens for travel. It's been all over this country along with Germany, Austria and Switzerland to boot! You can always sell the kit lens later if you move on to better glass. Over the last few years I have purchased a couple of more "pro grade" lenses but I'm still keeping my "kit" lens just because it is so versatile and lighter in weight for vacation travel.
