Having been a rabble-rouser since birth, I enjoy the dynamic, forceful exchange of ideas and beliefs. Go ahead guys, take off the gloves. LOL
Just one thing though, charts don't lie, so... the difference in the dynamic range of the two cameras is negligible.
And so we have a decided winner: Apaflo

Really guys, let's not get into a pissy fight over advice! I just wanted to know about experiences with both cameras. I can see all the different reviews and take each one with a grain of salt and go with who I think is the the best. So far I am trusting Tom Hogan the most and try and stay away from Rockwell even though I have read all his stuff and and think he is sincere. His reviews to me sound to generalized. But thanks for your info.

That would be "Thom" Hogan. Now why in the world would you trust him over the guy in this thread who says the dynamic range of the the two cameras is identical?

I think you`re not asking the right questions. We all have a tendency to become focused on gear features even though most people never ever use all the features.

I would look at what you are doing with your camera and what kinds of issues and frustrations you have. Clearly a new camera has to continue to allow you to do what you are doing now so that becomes the base feature set to make a decision on. Then what have been your frustrations? Examples of those might be a focus system that's not reliable or slow, and ISO that doesn't go high enough, Important adjustments that were not implemented in buttons on the outside of the camera thereby forcing you into a menu, slow frames per second. Even if you have the best camera, it too will have the odd frustration too.

Look at your issues and decide what you really want or need to solve now. Then look at the cameras available on the market and find yourself two or three that have the base needs and solve some of your frustrations. After that it's just a question of how much the new solutions are worth to you, some of the camera offerings may be too expensive while others seem reasonable in terms of what they will give you.

The problem when you take this approach is that we probably can't help you. We would need to understand your base needs and your issues prioritized by importance. If you can provide that we can likely help but then if you do provide that you probably won't need our help. Good Luck!

wow you guys are making this a lot more involved than need be. All I asked for was any experience with both cameras and what was your verdict if one was better overall than the other. I'm getting the 7200 let's move on
