I've used FastStone for several years--love it for quick culling and review. I have PS and LR for most editing, but FastStone is so much faster for review and selection. It can do a good job editing but as one would expect with freeware, it's not as versatile or useful as Adobe products.
How is FastStone as an Organizer?

I use it only for review and culling. I hope other users in this thread can address this question. (I use LR for organization).
I use yahoo Flickr.com...much easier to post & send pix than was Picasa. Can edit also. Recipients must have yahoo.com email to receive. I always text or email them as reminders to go to their yahoo email when I send pix. Also a learning curve.

Fast Stone Image Viewer along with Adobe Elements 14 covers most of my needs these days. Actually prefer the cropping features in FastStone over Elements. Fast and easy to use
I agree. Faststone Image Viewer is quite good for viewing raw files and basic editing. The thing I like about it is that I can view and edit files without importing them to my HD. In PSE, I must import the files before viewing and editing. I have a 256 G SSD and do not want to clog it up with photos. I can view them on Faststone first without worrying about my SSD.
Only reason I never used Picassa was that I found 1 or 2 small garbage programs that it installed but could be easily removed with ccleaner
Try Searching for Picasa 3.
I cannot copy and post it.
Picasa seems to be out there but none of the sites will download to my computer.

What operating system are you using???
Frankly, once the supplier stops supporting software, you're kind of inviting trouble if you continue to use it ... you never know what kind of weakness will develop, to be known to all hackers, and never get a patch.
In all honesty, I'm still running an aging WinXP computer in our basement - because I need that to run my aging Nikon slide scanner. However, that aging computer has no connection to anything ... it is completely stand-alone. A couple of weeks ago I thought the aging computer had died; since I still have at least a thousand slides to scan, I contacted the guy who had sold the scanner to me, and learned that attaching it to a Linux computer would be straight-forward, and I had started down that path {making the family computer dual boot with assistance from my daughter} when I discovered the problem with the aging computer was simply too much dust compacted around the processor. I'm still going down the Linux route when I have some spare time, because I know that aging computer's days are numbered.

Has anyone found a Picasa-like editing program or a version of Picasa that can be downloaded? The dropping of Picasa by Google has been a painful complication in my life. There are may sites on the internet that claim to have downloadable Picasa available but none will download for me.
I've never seen it, but Affinity Photo for Windows has been released. Apparently, it's been popular on Apple systems for a while.
Lots of sites claim to have Picasa available, but none would download to my computer. None.
I find Google Photos really rudimentary, compared to Picasa. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
