Has anyone found a Picasa-like editing program or a version of Picasa that can be downloaded? The dropping of Picasa by Google has been a painful complication in my life. There are may sites on the internet that claim to have downloadable Picasa available but none will download for me.

GIMP, Paint.net and FastStone come to mind if you are looking for a good free image editor. Then there are a plethora of non-free programs to choose from. Depends on what features are important to you.

I need a program that will get me organized, as well as editing, and being able to send images as attachments. The editing program in Windows almost does what I want.

I upgraded to FastStone Image Viewer when Google castrated Picasa: http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm

Have you looked at Google Photos? I use it for posting online, but they recently added editing capabilities. Affinity is now available for the PC - $39.99.

Ray, not ever having even seen picasa, not less used it, I'd have to just make a suggestion that is at least free software. Check out:

Light Zone - http://lightzoneproject.org/

or

Phocus - http://www.hasselblad.com/software/phocus

Both are free and, as with any, include a free learning curve. However, think back to picasa. It had a learning curve, as well.

Fast Stone Image Viewer along with Adobe Elements 14 covers most of my needs these days. Actually prefer the cropping features in FastStone over Elements. Fast and easy to use
