You wonder why the jury did not find him guilty? Really? Is it that hard to figure out? Here's a few common reasons why jurors in the past have inexplicably found a cop innocent even when it was blatantly obvious that cop committed murder against unarmed suspects:

1) The juror is prejudiced and biased in believing cops can do no wrong, particularly when killing a suspect who is black and "probably a thug" in the juror's mind

2) Many jurors are from the suburbs or areas where they have never known or experienced police brutality and police misconduct. They tend to just take the cop's word on everything, even when cops lie.

3) The prosecuting attorney can be very skilled in distorting the juror's perceptions and skilled at getting the juror to put fears and emotions over facts and reason

Does this swill you just posted little guy in any way related as to why O.J. Simpson was found innocent? Especially #3 in your swill. Cuts both way little guy. Guess you are too stupid to see that.

Why don't you tell us just exactly what makes you an expert on this particular situation. Tell us, little guy.

Why don't you go suck a tail pipe, Angry Butt Wipes? And why did you steal my avatar for your SBW account? Imitation is the best form of flattery and all, but I really am not flattered when a creepy slime ball like you copies my avatar.

It was clearly murder and there is no explaining the hung jury, I would suggest that the prosecution did a poor job in the jury selection phase of the trial because clearly there was someone on that jury that did not belong. There is no rationale which can support a mistrial. Justice has not been served in this case and I think we all can look forward to a retrial plus let's not forget that there is still a federal case out there.

I think one of the problems, besides the juror who didn't belong, is that the police and the prosecutor are on the same team. They work together to develop cases. In this instance, the prosecutor was pretty much on his own to develop the case. Also, there probably isn't much incentive to prosecute someone withwhom he knows and/or worked with.

There is no excuse for shooting someone in the back.
Look I understood them shooting the guy who was holding the electronic cigarette,
I understood the Michael Brown shooting, he should have called for back up but I understand
how it was justifiable. But shooting someone in the back is chicken sh!t

It IS awfully hard to imagine that at the point he started pulling the trigger that he really "feared for his life". The guy was already 15-20 feet away, running from him. The cop was just pissed and acting out of anger. And THAT is the definition of second-degree murder. But he won't walk in the end.

There are way too many police shootings, but unfortunately with the increase in attacks on law enforcement officers, they are going to be a little more twitchy on the trigger than ever. It is a vicious cycle.

He isn't 'walking' - they are going to try him again, and he also faces Federal trial. While I agree about how damning the video appears, perhaps it is worth pausing to wonder why the jury - who saw and heard *all* the evidence - did not find him guilty in about 30 seconds flat. There must be stuff there that the media have not bothered to report on.
This is more a condemnation of how poor the media reporting is than the of the court case itself...

I agree with you, if 12 jurors who have heard all the evidence can't come up with a guilty verdict who are we to judge him just by looking at a video. People make judgements based on a small amount of evidence, and then you have the loons who try and blame Trump for all that's wrong with the world. What a moron.

I have seen only a video but based on the video alone I see an execution. I see NO rational reason for the cop to, by any stretch of the imagination, fear he was in immediate danger of losing his life.

It's good to keep in mind that we were lucky to have a clear video in this case, so that we could see for certain that the cop was lying. In many cases, there is no video or inadequate video evidence to know for sure what happened, and when the cop claims that his life was in danger, most people just take the cop's word for it.

This begs the question: How many times have cops gotten away with lying when they unjustly shot someone who was not endangering his life, simply because there was no video evidence to contradict the lies?

Oh for Chrissake! You are an ass. You just had to go there, didn't you? To blame Obama for what this cop did proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are so possessed with blind hatred towards Obama, you have warped your brain. This could explain why your mind is incapable of sensible reasoning. Get help.

Actually I didn't blame him, you complete jackass. Since you insisted on trashing the incoming admin with some attempt at suggesting it was his group that somehow allowed crap like this that I merely pointed out who was in charge when he got the split jury----- yes, it was a subtle shot at YOU, not Obama, but as expected the progressive mind can't grasp subtlety.

By the way, why are you still using our valuable oxygen, moron?

Irony?

You responded first on thread and went straight to "blind hatred towards" Trump.

I think this is a South Carolina issue ... this mistrial anyway.
