Get used to it. Trump's "Law & Order" gang do not think that cops killing unarmed blacks are a problem. Trump and his fascist minions have stated repeatedly that people who complain about police brutality and unjustified killings are "haters" who are "dividing this country" and "don't want cops to do their jobs to keep us save" blah blah blah blah.

Have you checked out Trump's new Attorney General Jeff Sessions? He is so incredibly pro-cop and neanderthal and racist that he wants to take things back not just to the 1950s, but 1850s. With him in charge of the Justice Department, there will be no attempt to hold cops accountable. Say good bye to police reform now.

Jeff Sessions is specifically critical of the Civil Rights Division of the US Justice Department pursuing police misconduct cases. Not good, soba. Not good.

Think that states should be allowed to legalize marijuana, soba? Well, prepare for the clock to be turned back now thanks to people like you who voted in this neo-fascist authoritarian con man who just picked a drug war dinosaur for Attorney General.

I agree. When you look at the video, it is clearly murder. I don't see how anyone could see it differently. First shot fired at his back when he was 18 feet away and running away. Slager fired 7 more shots at his back. He said rhe was afraid for his life. What a lie. How can you be afraid of an unarmed man running away from you. Dead because the tail light on his car was out. Disgusting.

He isn't 'walking' - they are going to try him again, and he also faces Federal trial. While I agree about how damning the video appears, perhaps it is worth pausing to wonder why the jury - who saw and heard *all* the evidence - did not find him guilty in about 30 seconds flat. There must be stuff there that the media have not bothered to report on.
This is more a condemnation of how poor the media reporting is than the of the court case itself...

The murder of a Hispanic man in Pasco WA by a group of police, also caught on video, was equally reprehensible. You had to dig to follow the story but they weren't even brought to trial.

The media has been silent on that one. I guess because the guy murdered wasn't black and therefore doesn't match the narrative they want.

Similar to the killing of the white homeless guy in Arizona or New Mexico last year.

You wonder why the jury did not find him guilty? Really? Is it that hard to figure out? Here's a few common reasons why jurors in the past have inexplicably found a cop innocent even when it was blatantly obvious that cop committed murder against unarmed suspects:

1) The juror is prejudiced and biased in believing cops can do no wrong, particularly when killing a suspect who is black and "probably a thug" in the juror's mind

2) Many jurors are from the suburbs or areas where they have never known or experienced police brutality and police misconduct. They tend to just take the cop's word on everything, even when cops lie.

3) The prosecuting attorney can be very skilled in distorting the juror's perceptions and skilled at getting the juror to put fears and emotions over facts and reason

Upset yes but it's not over. We have not seen this play out yet. The courts aren't done with this and we will see that bad cop pay for what he did. Hey I'm a cop and I don't like you running away from me so I'm going to kill you and he did. Then as seen by everyone is the bad cop walking over to the man he murdered and planting his Taser gun to imply that the victim was armed. In this day in time all it takes is one juror to be gotten to by someone or just raciest enough to try and pull this off. I have talked to a retired cop about this and he said that it was murder and that he should be in jail for a very long time. Letting this bad cop off is like throwing gasoline on a burning fire and it will happen.

Perhaps I missed something, but I didn't see a video of the actual event on that link. Just a news report.

He ain't walking. From one report I heard, a single juror held out. So he was NOT found not-guilty , but rather it was a hung jury- no record of innocense or guilt has been found- he gets re-tried...
However, don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see- perhaps a good saying pertaining to the original scene and the trial- though the evidence seems to me irrefutable. From what I have read and seen, I would have voted guilty.

And then I'd blame it on President Carter.. as blaming it on anybody else- like who is isn't currently president or for that matter IS president... or anybody BUT the guilty cop... shows just as much thought and brain power.

Google "Walter Scott video". There is an unedited version there.

There is another video available of a cop (Jason Alexander) shooting someone running away that happened in Minneapolis Google "Lee Fong video). He wasn't even brought to trial.

There is no excuse for shooting someone in the back.
Look I understood them shooting the guy who was holding the electronic cigarette,
I understood the Michael Brown shooting, he should have called for back up but I understand
how it was justifiable. But shooting someone in the back is chicken sh!t

Agree. Most of the time, shootings by police are justified. This time I smell pork chops
