Not based on any facts, but the OPs question is not based on any facts either, just speculation as to whether the "d7300" will ever be produced. To the best of my knowledge there are not even rumors on whether or not Nikon will develop or produce any upgrade to any of their existing line cameras. It is possible, but the d500 is here now and in my opinion there would not be any upgrade to the d7200 that would compete with the d500, once again speculation on my part this time. Without something from Nikon, no one knows, so if the OP wants to speculate, then so do I, and I really do not care if you agree or not.

Well now that makes your earlier response most helpful.

I'm looking at upgrading to a D7200, but I really like the flip screen. I've been doing some research on the rumored D7300 and that it might have the same with a couple of other improvements. Does anyone out there have any info on when and if the D7300 might make an appearance? Any info would be appreciated. I'd like to upgrade sometime in the next 4-6 months... If there's no upgrade coming out then I can take advantage of holiday pricing (or rather maybe Santa Wife can)....

Thanks...

Looking at introductions it might be a year or more if history repeats itself. It is different today as well with new models being slight improvements generally over the previous model. No real revolutionary break through's with each model as it was at the beginning of the digital age. Yes there are some improvements that could be considered major but they are more rare now. Most are a few more pixels, or a couple of FPS more or a stop or two of extra ISO (Forget the super high numbers, they are purely for marketing purposes and to sucker people into buying into the hype.
The 7200 is a very capable camera, produces professional grade images, uses the old fashioned screw AF lenses and is well built. The D500 is incrementally a bit better but is it worth the high premium in price for what you get over the 7200? Bragging rights?
You need to decide if any incremental improvement is worth the extra money. Is your camera good enough for now? If so then waiting likely will be worth it for the 7300. If the 7300 comes out and does not blow your socks off then go ahead and save a lot of money on the 7200. Remember the D500 is also a completely different layout operationally.
All choices are good and you will need to see what it is worth to you.

The need isn't great at the moment. I can easily afford either one of the three. The D7200 comes closest for meeting my needs. The rumors are strong for the flip screen. I revisited the specs on the 7200 and 500 and still prefer the 7200/7300 depending on the rumored delivery date. I doubt the 7300 will be out by years end as they would have released it by now for Christmas. Mainly I was only seeking if there was any insight on a reliable release date for the D7300..... Thanks for the responses...

Facts? Are you implying people should make suggestions based on facts? At UHH? Have you taken leave of your senses?

By God, you're right (again). Thank you so much for jolting me back to reality.

10 frames a second, a much improved buffer, and the fact that the D500 comes with the same focusing system software as the D5. And the D500 has group auto focus, something they should have put on the D7200 but did not. A much improved low light capable camera than the D7200. I, on the other hand, am not doing a prediction but rather base my facts on current models, which, I am sure, you are aware of.

Well your post is meaningless and not responsive to the original request.
