B&H is NOT the only legitimate source, of course---BUT 42nd St Photo is absolutely the most unreliable source!

Aloha from Hawaii !

42nd St Photo and Daxmart are bad news and should be avoided like the plague !!! Other contributors have clearly outlined all the problems associated with these companies. Make no mistake, they are scam artists !! Stick with trusted companies such as B&H, Adorama, Amazon and your local camera store

I wish we could do more to disseminate this important information more widely !

It's quite likely that, people that pay attention, and check out the reputations of the various vendors and bricks & boards shops, Pay close attention to what is being said about sellers. People that don't "check this out" get screwed by the lousey crooks, and, evidently there's enough of these "un-cautious buyers" out there to keep the BUMS afloat. I think we should, as a group, address the issue of our experiences with vendors as the bad news arises, to protect the interests of all HOGS. SEMPER FI !! RJM Keep disseminating!! OoooRah!

By the way, I checked the 42 street reviews on some of the "questionable" sites and they had "great" reviews. HOWEVER, when you looked at the reviews, they were all from EXTREMELY similar names and when you looked at the browser codes, they were from nearly identical IP addresses. I'm guessing that they had store employees writing reviews for them.

With so many legitamate choices why would anyone even consider them? If the answer is great price. I say , if it sounds too good to be true it usually is....

Another way to spot those employee lies is that they all sound like the store is the greatest thing on the planet. That alone should be enough to steer away any intelligent buyer. Any store that has to rest to this dishonest deceit alone tells you to stay clear.

I use primarily Adorama. They are knowledgeable and honest. I do not use B&H due to their employee practices.
