The contrast between the warm window light in the distance and the very cool blue of the rest of the scene is striking. On download, there is just a touch of color to add a little detail to the boats which are almost silhouettes. Beautiful work.
Thank you, Carol. The lighted windows made this one work. Removed them, the shot was a yawn. Also did a version with HDR which lit up the houses so you could see them completely. Didn't like it, took away the effectiveness of the window lights, and made the shot another yawn. Returned to the original, left just enough color to make it interesting. Glad you agreed with the decision.
Thanks for your very kind comments and visit, they're always very much appreciated!

Thanks, Jim. Pleased you enjoyed this one. No cats, no Dark Ladies, just a quiet scene. Sometimes I do them. Not often, lol.

This one really made my eyes pop open!! At first it didn't strike me as, serene, even a little! Ha! I had to look at it a couple of times before I could see the tranquility of it all.. A favorite for sure!!

Thanks, TG. Not even a mosquito buzzing about to disturb the quiet. Low tide, the water almost at a standstill. Lights on in the buildings, adding some warmth to the otherwise cold scene, but no noise, not a soul moving about. A place of respite and solitude, at least at that moment.
Of course, should one glance to the left and just out of this scene, one would see the hustle and bustle of tourists, shoppers, and heavy traffic on a brightly lit thorofare. But no law says you have to look to the left, so you can ignore all the hubbub and stay focused on the oasis of quiet in front of you here, lol.

Beautiful shot and post work, Randy. I love the moody blues of night and sprinkle of lights in the background.

Fantastic shot, Randy. I think I've been there.
Nice composition, very calming.
Nice night work. I like the deep blues; they give a feeling of serenity.
Lovely shot. Blue is my favorite color and your "incipient" neon blue is absolutely gorgeous. Love.
