The contrast between the warm window light in the distance and the very cool blue of the rest of the scene is striking. On download, there is just a touch of color to add a little detail to the boats which are almost silhouettes. Beautiful work.

This very, very special, Randy. I've already snagged it for my UHH favorites folder!

All that blue sets the mood - ultra serene and quiet - but the pops of golden light in the background remind us of all the folks snug in their homes. The silhouetted boats are so visually pleasing, as is the curves of the shoreline and the stream of water running down to the lower right. Beautifully balanced visual weight of shapes and colors, which also add to the peaceful mood. I love this image!

Thank you, Linda. Glad you liked it. Very quiet and peaceful, while a glance to the left and there's the hustle and bustle of a very busy little town, all lit up with business in full swing. I preferred this view, and certainly needed the quiet time.

Thanks for your very kind comments and visit, always grateful!

Beautiful shot, Randy. Hope Madame P. is continuing to improve.

Thanks, Nick. Glad you enjoyed it. Madame P is doing very well, feeling almost normal, her strength gradually returning, and back at work again. Surgery coming up late next month or possibly early November, depending on how well the surgeon feels she's coming along. I'll try to keep my head and not have another meltdown when she goes in for that, but don't count on it, lol.

Thanks for your concern and visit, it's very much appreciated!

Thanks, phlash46. I love that time of night, still just a touch of light in the sky, enough to see what you're shooting. Glad you liked this one, and thanks for your kind comment and visit. It's always much appreciated!

This one really made my eyes pop open!! At first it didn't strike me as, serene, even a little! Ha! I had to look at it a couple of times before I could see the tranquility of it all.. A favorite for sure!! TG

Dreamy and peaceful...I can almost hear Loons in the distance!!

Thanks, Bob. The loons weren't far off. In fact, there was a really big loon behind the viewfinder, lol.

Glad you enjoyed the shot, and thanks as always for the kind comment and your visit. It's very much appreciated!

What a wonderful place to relax a little after such an extremely stressful month. We all are still with you in spirit. I think I would love Maine even though I have never been anywhere near it. Pictures are always interesting.

Thanks, Frank. Maine is like being in the Twilight Zone, but in a good way. It's a world apart, as if all the noise of day-to-day living stops at the border. Didn't help me much as usual this year, as distressed as I was about Madame P. But she's much better, gaining strength every day, and laughing again. So that's a huge load off my mind, tho I'll undoubtedly panic again when her surgery comes, lol. But all the support from you and everyone here on UHH has been an enormous help, and I'm very grateful to you all.

Thanks for your very kind words and visit, it's always very much appreciated!

Thanks, Pierre. It was very much needed this year, but only a band-aid, not a cure. Still, some band-aids are better than others, lol. Couldn't do any photos when I was there while she was sick, but back again last weekend after she had recovered, so was able to take a few shots without shaking, lol.

Thanks for understanding, and thanks as always for your support here. It's most appreciated.

Thank you, Angela. A beautiful time of evening, just before full darkness and still some light in the sky, so I could see what I was shooting. Ebb tide, hardly a ripple in the water. Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for your kind comments and visit. Always much appreciated!
