I've had the photo bug since 1965. I've had many different cameras over the years from Mamiya, Hasselblad, Bronica, Nikon F, and just recently got a D7000. Recently retired since April and would love to get back to shooting every day. D7000 was in my budget so I was not able to get any upgrade but I think the 7000 is plenty of camera for me. Also have a Nikon 35mm 1.8 and a Nikon 18-70 f3.5 DX.

Well, I'd like to supplement my retirement income with some photo sales. I was going to try the online stock photo places and see what they might be able to do for me. Not sure where else to go so if anyone has any suggestions I'd love the advice!

You want easy?
1.)Get a telephoto Lens; document cheating spouses, sell to cheater for moderate price, and then to victim for more.

REALLY?!?! will this actually work??
Do you have experience in this genre that you could be a mentor?
Is there a directory for these cheaters so I can easily find my subjects easily?
If I happen to be on that list......, do I have to charge myself for my own services?
Are there any late night infomercials I can watch...., on what channel ?
This is exciting, Jim, please send more info.
Can this be done with a Nikon...., or will I need a REAL camera, like a Canon!!!
Very gratefully yours......, SS

I have to agree with donwitz.start with weddings at about $100.00 an hour.I've see photographers charge in access of $1,200 for a wedding shoot.a friend of the family had paid a pro about $2,400 to shoot her wedding.I shot the wedding from the sidelines and every chance he got ,the pro kept trying to block my shots.by the end of the wedding our friend was mad at me for getting in the pros way.I gave her mom a cd of all my pics which she loved.2 weeks later our friend hot her pic from the pro

The OP asked if there was an easy way to sell his photographs. He's been shooting for 51 years which would make him considerably older than that. You're suggesting he tries to start a new business as a wedding photographer. I doubt that would fit his definition of "easy".

There is nothing easy about starting a wedding business and keeping it going. In fact, it is very difficult at any age. You ability in sales and marketing is at least as important as your ability as a photographer.

I bet you can get a hell of a lot of weddings where a lot of couples can't afford to pay an expensive photographer $2,000 or $3,000, but can pay you $200 or $300 all day long and I can bet you that those pictures you could probably take them with one hand tied behind your back and they would probably look just fine.
