Welcome to Bahston! It is a fun city to visit, especially this time of year! You will be walking the "Freedom Trail" (well, you Brits might call it something different! ) - lots of history. A visit to MIT and Hahvahd campuses is interesting. If you walk through the MIT main building, ask if they still have the gallery of Harold Edgerton's photo's. He developed the strobe light for photography and pioneered stop-action photography and was an icon at MIT for many decades. He was an eclectic - as he described himself, "just a farm boy from Nebraska" - his work started with developing huge strobes for night-time aerial photography over Europe in WWII and included development of the side-scanning sonar, which he used to help in the hunt for the Loch Ness Monster. One spot I like is the Arnold Arboretum out in Jamaica Plain - reachable on the Red Line of the MTA. It is a large Olmsted-designed public garden and a beautiful spot.

Thank you very much Steve for the welcome and your in depth information very interesting. We did walk some of the "Freedom Trail", caught the MTA and used the ferry. With only having two full days in Boston we were time restricted. The gardens sound a lovely place to go, will make a note for a future visit. Appreciate you looking in.

Very dramatic shot, Sylvia. I spent more time than I care to remember at MGH when my wife was sick, but it is the best place to be in those situations. You should definitely have nice foliage conditions when you get up here. Welcome to the USA and enjoy your stay.

Thank you Dennis for your lovely welcome and kind comment, we are having a great time so far. We are fortunate to have such wonderful people to treat us when needed but I know what you mean.
Fingers crossed for the foliage, it has turned cooler over the last few days.

Welcome to this side of the puddle. If you have the time, try to make a trip through Vermont, as the leaves there in the fall are
generally spectacular. There are some parts of VT that have been compared to Scotland, especially around the Tunbridge, VT area.
Rte. 100 is considered one of the 25 best scenic routes in the U.S. Even if I don't always comment on them, I love to see your
photos as they are always so well done and interesting.
