Should I be using a screen protector on my camera?

Just wondering how many feel the need to use one? I have one on my phone, but the phone really can take some bumps.
Why not? I have one attached on my pocket camera. 2.7" LCD. Same type I have on my smartphone. You cut to fit. I have none on my DSLR. It doesn't fit in my pocket. Bubbles are somewhat difficult to flatten out once applied. But it prevents scratching.
I think it depends on how you use the camera. I personally don't use a cover and have yet to scratch / shatter a screen, although I know it's a (slight) risk I'm taking. They're not that expensive, so if it makes you feel better, go for it :)
If you're prone to dropping your camera or handling it very roughly, it may be a good idea to get a screen protector. I don't use one, and none of my cameras have scratches on them.
I have a protector on all my LCDs. Cheap insurance. Get a good quality one.
Why not!?? What would be the downside?
I used to not have one. It only takes one time to change your mind.
BTW: I found out that protectors cover up minor abrasions but larger scratches... not so well.
Got my protector from my wife which is a very high quality protector. Their free when an old cell phone is turned in, you just need to trim it to size.

I have a Vello glass screen cover on my 7D. Don't know if it helps, but it can't hurt. Basically free (super inexpensive) protection.
A plastic screen protector came with my new d610. However, when I use my big stopper neutral density filter the closed viewer piece that came with my camera will not fit if the screen protector is in place. My work around is to leave the screen protector in place and just use some dark tape to cover my viewer. Any other ideas that solve this issue?

I don't like Nikons plastic protectors- check this out - expert shield
Absolutely. It doesn't really affect the screen resolution and can prevent big scratches. While hiking over the summer I stowed my nikon in my day pack then my wife tossed in some souvenir rocks that she had collected. Yikes! When I pulled the camera out, there were 2 large scratches on the rear lcd but they didn't penetrate through the screen protector and the lcd was saved! I think that you can buy decent screen protectors for most cameras. You never know where scratches are lurking until they happen...
I didn't put one on my FZ200, and now I wish I had thought to do that. The surface of the screen now has some mars on it that won't come off. For as little as they cost, it well worth it to put one on to preserve the finish of your screen. My D7200 has one.
Buy a nice multilayer optical on for most DSLR for about $15-25.
So why not protect your investment...

Insurance against what?? And spend a lot of money on it, will it take a better picture?
