Thanks. Just a quickie, using available indoor lighting.
Not to injure any feelings here but I think the sequence should be as follows:
f2.8 @ 1/500
f4 @ !/250
f5.6 @ 1/125
f8 @ 1/60
f16 @ 1/30
The exposure would be the same but the depth of field would be least at 2.8 and most at f16
Thanks for the good shot shots Dean

Boy MWAC, You just can't seem to win for losing at times. Great idea if I do say so myself! And Thanks for starting these threads! I will have to get my camera out and try this. Even though I can't even get it to go to F8 I will still use the range it has and see what all I can come up with and get some pics posted.

My xs canon will not change Aperture in any setting. My Fuji only has 2 available Apertures, 3.1 and 5.6. Is there a fix for the Canon like default settings or something of this nature. When I go to menue there are so many choices of so many different things but I could not find default settings

Back to the subject, I look forward to the lesson, I just got my Canon 60D back and they replaced the screen, and gave me an updated filmware. The LCD screen looks great!
Hopefully I won't having any more problems with the shutter not going down.
Which brings to to a lesson I wanted to past on to everyone, (I sure many of you already know it...but) your LCD screen should not be exposed to sunlight if possible. So keep it covered. The light in it will fade, and it gets harder to see images if it is always left open.
Back to the subject, I look forward to the lesson... (

Hurray! Hurray! Rachael got her baby back!!! This is a cool idea, for a thread I mean. I like photogirls, but felt like I missed the boat. This one, starting from scratch, is a good idea. Jen

Thanks Jen, they told me 6 to 8 weeks, and it only took 2 and 1/2. Yeah!

To use Aperture priority on the XS you need too set the program dial to AV, now to adjust the aperture value use the dial (shutter speed dial) just above the shutter button.
* I use to own the rebel xs. :)
