Going to Washington DC end of September.

What lens should I take? I have the 35mm,50mm,24-70mm and the 70-200mm all nikon. I guess the 24-70mm for night shots.
+1 for Great Falls. It's a National Park, no less; not many of them in the DC area. Better photo ops on the Virginia side, in my opinion.
Please be advised that the subway (Metro) is undergoing a revitalization project called "Safe Track." This is causing some schedule changes, so make sure you're up on what's going on.

I'd take the 24-70 and the 70-200. If you can only take one lens then take the 24-70 MM
By taking these two lenses, you'd have the 35 mm equivelent of 38 mm to 320 MM,
a very nice range.

I agree, these 2 lenses should do it.
Take the widest lens you have and you won't be sorry. Take the fastest lens you have for indoor scenes. Made that mistake one time (not wide enough, not fast enough) and regretted it the whole 12 days of the trip! Crop camera-take an 11-16, full frame 17-35. Fast 35 (crop) or 50 (full frame) at a minimum.
Have fun and show us some of your pictures.
