I entered boot camp at San Diego on 22 July 1966. Retired from the Navy in July 1989.

Went to Glakes on 30MAR65. Anyone remember camp Moffett and Porter? Joined CG after first hitch in Navy and retired with 22 years. Had a great time! Anybody out there on USS Springfield from '65 - '67?

Yes, I have heard many stories about that place from old timers. And California boot camp location too. Now closed. Navy birthday on October 13th 1775. 241 years old now.

I'm right there with a lot of you. I arrived in San Diego 14 April 66. Got out of the Navy on 5 Jan 70. Joined the Air Force June 71 & retired 1 June 88. Thanks for your service to all our veterans. I'm proud to say my wife and both sons have served.

Great Lakes June 1965. Graduated high school on a Friday and Monday morning was in boot camp.
