It's been awhile since I've posted anything on UHH. Sometimes things happen in life that require 100% of our attention. Have debated in my mind just what I might say when this moment came that I would attempt another post. Sadly on June 12th our youngest daughter, Heather, (39) lost her husband. He was 42 & due to some health issues that seemed to be beyond his control.....he passed away. Moments like this are always a shock & naturally we needed to be there as much as possible for our daughter. She lives about 8 miles away so that really helps. She appears to be doing OK & was able to return to work shortly after his funeral. Last week we offered to take her on a mini road trip to Illinois, which she really deserves, since she has been unable to get away for years. I might need to add another post soon just to share a few more shots of our adventure beyond this area.....which are quite colorful. Please enjoy some of the peaceful moments that we did experience.

Nice shots, and condolences to your daughter for her terrible loss. Good that she has family so close to help her thru this difficult time.

Our children (or their spouses) should not pass before we do but sometimes it does happen. Sorry for you loss Bob because what affects your daughter will. certainly affect you also.

I hope she was able to take some comfort from the beautiful countryside.

Thank you Treepusher......for the kind thoughts. As parents, we are glad to be so close & to be able to be there for her. Her sister & her family also live close by so that has also been a great help. Much appreciated, Bob

Thank you Mike D. for your thoughtful comment. It is hard to see ones daughter loose her husband & I will admit to finding it an extremely emotional moment. Heather did enjoy our get away & appreciated the beauty of seeing something different. Thanks again, Bob

Thank you Jim S......We appreciate your kind words and thanks for checking out what I hoped were "peaceful" pictures. Wasn't sure if I should have even mentioned what happened, but with comments coming across like I'm seeing......it feels reassuring to have others be so thoughtful. Mahalo, Bob

Thanks jederick.......for your understanding on how rough something like this can be in ones life. It's one of the hardest moments I've ever gone through. Our daughter is like an angel & was to her husband during what would have been 7 years of marriage come August. We will dwell on the good moments to help her through this & continue to make new happy memories for the future. She enjoyed this mini road trip & showed her appreciation. Glad you enjoyed the photos. Bob
