One might notice that Nikon's "Holy Trinity" of zoom lenses are all have about a 3x zoom range (or less).
14-24
24-70
70-200

Nikon's 17-55 DX is the a "Trinity"-level zoom for DX cameras.
An oldie but a goodie....and again, 3x zoom range.

Just checked it out. Unfortunately the price is Trinity-level too (£1,100) .

The 18-200 VRII Nikon lens stays on my D7100 about 90% of the time. Love this lens.
