'One Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.' At least, that's the idea. And despite some of the unhappy things that have happened over the years, that flag still remains representative of the world's last best hope of Freedom.

Long may she wave.

Amen to that and very well said tp!

I too was near this area of Missouri traveling a few weeks ago...I loved the Mark Twain Forest, saw lots of deer. You guys were in a somewhat remote area (away from Interstates and Super Highway) and that's where some of the best treasure can be found for photography. Great find with a nice patriotic flavor. You always find wonderful things to show us. Way-to-Go!

And I would dearly love to live in a small town like that. A grand and beautiful sight indeed, Merry, and I love your shots!!

The population of that little town is a little over 200. If we'd have blinked we'd have missed it. I come from a small town in Texas with a population of 1400, and I thought that was small. I appreciate your comment donna...thank you!

Such a heartwarming look at Americana, MT! Makes you feel a bit of warmth amidst all the turmoil.

Yes it does...that's exactly what I felt the second I saw it. Thanks so much for your heartwarming comment carlysue.

A lovely patriotic tribute. This sounds like a very enjoyable place to take a break from your travels!

Thank you carol...i'm glad you like it. The hour or so we spent in that little town was very enjoyable...that delicious country home cooking was just what we needed!

Thank you for your comments james! We like to drive on the back roads where there are treasures to be found and interesting things to shoot. My husband's always willing to turn around and go back if we pass something I want to photograph. The mark twain forest sounds like a place we'd like. I'm going to put it on our list of places to visit the next time we are in that beautiful part of the country.

I'm sure someone was pleased you stopped and took photos of something they put a lot of thought and effort into. And, you passed it on. Thanks.

First let me say that was awesome to see MT!!! I raise the flag every morning. Now 2 things! 1) You guys need to get a road map! Missouri is not on your way home!!:):) And 2) You were so close you could have stopped to say hi to me! You wandered around every where else!!!:):):)
