This is a B&W conversion using digital artistry of a Scotsman without his bagpipes. I have some more that I will upload in the future. C&C welcome! Thanks.

If he has no bagpipes...., Why even call him Scotsman?! LoL
Tom, this is a beautiful image. I like the profile. The background works really well also! I'd like to see a little more contrast in the skin and hair. Possibly look at it as a little more in portrait than in landscape, I don't think it would loose anything important. Very nicely done as is!!!

Excellent work on this, Tom. Gorgeous image, wonderful light and contrasts, perfect in the monochrome.

SS,
Thanks for the review. I only had my 24-70 f/2.8 lens and I usually take these shots with my 70-200 mm f/2.8. Hence, not optimum equipment for me when I did this shot - went with what I had since I also took a group shot of about 12-13 people.
I try not to make it super contrasty separating the whites and the blacks. If go too far, it becomes muddy real quickly. In all fairness, this shot uses RGB color space for prints and not sRGB for computer exhibiting. Also, UHH changes make it look less sharp and contrasty. The 8x10 print looks quite good. I have some more which I will upload starting tonight - possibly Sunday night, not sure.
Oh, I do have one or two with some bagpipes as well- at least enough such that you can tell he has them.
Thanks SS. Off to work I go with a heat index of 100 F and tomorrow 105 F, while I am also working outside. Temperatures will be around 95 F. Oh, Hot Dog - no pun intended!!!
Best Regards,
Tom

Treepusher,
Thanks for your much appreciated review on this one. Also, thanks for the comments on the 'lovely lady my image see what you can do' for my rendition. She truly is a lovely lady and I very much enjoyed working on her image you had posted. Thanks again.
Working, but had to take time to reply!
Best Regards,
Tom
A handsome fellow, that one. He's lucky to have you portray him in such a dramatic fashion.

Thank you, Bob. Compliments from you are appreciated, since you, yourself, most often upload excellent images!

Hi Walt,
Thanks for the comments. How have you been? Working hard, most likely, knowing you. Speaking of work, I have to leave in 10 minutes and face the extreme heat and humidity working outside again today. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! I think I actually get to rest a little tomorrow! Have a great day.
Best Regards,
Tom
Fantastic shot, thanks for sharing.

That's a really nice portrait. And the B&W just really sets the tone, IMHO.

Bill,
Every time I am in Columbus, which is a lot ( I was there for 6 hours today), and I see signs of, or for, Blacklick or Blacklick road or whatever, I always think of you and UHH. I still honestly don't know where Blacklick starts and ends - seems like such an ambiguous place or community in Columbus?
Thanks for your generous comments about my B&W image. I love doing those and just have to wait to find people who are good candidates for that B&W conversion process. I have a few more of the Piper and will probably post them at times on UHH. I have another gentleman's picture that I converted to B&W and want to upload it, but I am waiting for a chance to get him to sign a photo release. Thanks again.
Best Regards,
Tom
Tom,
Blacklick is just east of Gahanna. Its a very small burg and I technically live in Jefferson Township...but that's even more difficult to nail down then Blacklick. PM me some time and maybe we can do a lunch or coffee or something.
