An implied I took recently.
K and I shoot together frequently. She made a couple of flowered head pieces and was anxious to try them out, so we did!!! She's very creative and artistic. She models, is an actress and writes as well!

Nice model shot, but the flowers are a little overdone for me.
SS, your lighting was very well done and the colors and flesh tone looks great. Maybe on a full length shot the flowers wouldn't over power this beautiful model. A smaller arrangement of flowers may balance things out. JMHO. Keep up your good work!
Is she a heavy girl? Her upper left arm looks big, so it makes your model gain weight. I like the flowers. A colorful background might have been nice here.

SS,
I like how the nail polish and the lipstick basically match/coordinate with the darker roses. However, I sincerely think the flowers over power the shot and are really a 100% distraction. She is a lovely model and the flowers just don't do it. Also, the upper hand/arm is quite distracting and does not fit proportionally with the lower hand and arm, plus they just look totally out of place, especially that upper arm - wow, how big it looks (and the wrist and the hand as well)!
This would be a spectacular photo if the hands and the arms were not there as well as the flowery head dress. Do you have one that is just her with no head ornament and hands and arms gone? You captured her eyes exquisitely as well as the rest of her torso. Her eyebrows and lashes look very good, as well as her lips. Her skin looks exceptional, whether you did anything in Post with it or not. The skin tones are great with proper shadows and darkening that took place.
Seriously, if you have one as I described previously, consider posting, and I think you will get a far better response; but of course, that is just my opinion. Thanks SS for posting.
Best Regards,
Tom
P.S. Last observation/question - does she have a particularly large upper torso? I ask because she looks like she may be sitting in a peculiar way or is leaning back . . . something about the way it appears to me - what do you think?
It's a nice "Latin Look" but the posing of her hands looks ungraceful.. It needs to be more of a flowing line, without the severe bend at the wrist. Often this is because the model is applying too much pressure.
Only you can see these details in your viewfinder and talk her thru them. Just asking her to relax her wrist would make a big difference in the mood of the image. Your lighting and posing is great, so is the model.
I LOVE the lipstick/ manicure color combo with the roses... and nice job on getting those eyes in perfect focus. Masterful shot...

Jim, thanks!
Yes, she is a little on the heavy side so her arms aren't gonna get smaller.
She purposely made the flowers big, kind of like an oversized hat with a lot of color on it. Think Beach Blanket Babylon!! LoL She actually made a smaller one as well but it's only on her clothed shots so probably not worth posting.
Thanks for looking.

SS, this is a very gripping photo with her eyes. I just wish she was looking more at the camera. K did a great job of matching her lipstick and nails match her flowers. I think turning her a bit to her right might balance out her visual differences in her hands and arms. The lighting is great.
I am glad I found this forum. I am learning a lot.
