Sad but exciting at the same time. I know that you will find a new subject to post more beautiful photos of. I have lived vicariously through these photos and hope someday to fins a nest to watch. Thank you for all of these.

Thank you so much for your terrific comments.

Just went back and looked at all of the eagle postings for this year. Looks like they hatched, maybe mid-April and fledged in about 10 weeks so right on time. It really was a great series. How close can you get? Looking forward to next season! Thanks again.
Dale

Thank you for your comments, and for taking the time to view the earlier shots. This nest is pretty much eye level from a road that runs along a river. The nest is on other side of river, so I think it's a couple of hundred feet, maybe more. You can canoe or row boat down the river from a rec site about a mile away, but then you'd be too low to see the nest

A GREAT series Linda - and thanks for bringing it to us ! ............

Not to diminish these images, but Next year, you might give thought to renting a 7D II and 400 DO II with 2X ( 800mm, 1200+ equiv) - hopefully they and we will all be around for next year !

Thank you for your visit and suggestion. The amount of time I'd have to spend in a gym to carry that equipment would cut into my nature photo schedule - LOL.
