I think you are off to a great start. My preference would be to lighten it up a bit but it's your art. At the end of the day you must please yourself first.

Were not for the stork who very conveniently posed for you during the long exposure, the picture would be ordinary and not original. I hope you do not mind my take on it.

Wonderfully eye catching with contrast/mix of Still and Not Still, BW and Color. Kudos on originality and execution.

I love long exposure photography. It see what the eye can not see. This image has a number of issues. It is shot in harsh, over-head light. The result is deep shadows and lost details. The only colored object is the plant in front but it is in harsh light and in heavy shadows. I would come back when the light is more favorable. As for the rest of the image, it is not the attractive silky smooth that I would expect and want but more of a blur. I can't tell what is above the falls. There is an image here and it is interesting and that would be a close crop of just the bird. The blurred background and the sharp bird would be a nice image in itself.

It is all good.

Your take is ok with me. I just want to test and learn, it's a small trashy falls with lots of over growth. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for your input. So would early morning with the sun facing it and a longer exposure help. Late after noon the sun would be in my face. Not much to see small creek with small falls and kind of trashy and over grown. I was just trying it out for the first time and trying to figure it out, a work in progress!

Early morning is ideal. Get there before the sun hits it. It is not trashy. Good light and composition will always render a good image. Play with the length of exposure (2,4, 8, 10 ore more or less). I think you were like 8 seconds too long on this shot, (somewhat mushy) unless you choose a tight aperture 16 or more and a big filter like at 10 to 15 stopper. But early in the morning, you might not need a stopper at all.

Good luck

The bird was as still as a statue for it to be so clear in a 10/s exposure. Is it live or is it Memorex?
