I have been using HP for years. The current one I got I just love as the connection has been Wi Fi, and right out of the box set it self up. All I had to do is enter the Wi Fi
password and done! Over the 2 or 3 years that I have had it there has been a couple of software corruptions. All I had to do is go online to HP and hit fix my printer and done!

My Epson V500 stopped functioning the day I upgraded to 10. I downloaded (a number of times) the Epson patches; I followed their instructions to the Tee; and it didn't work.

The only way I got may scanner to work again was to drag an old laptop out of mothballs (it is a pre-Windows 7 machine) and hooked the scanner up to that and it works like a charm. Now I scan old photos or documents, transfer them to a zip drive, transfer them to my computer where I do my post processing. It seems like a lot of work, but at least I have my scanner back!

sounds to me like you need to take a trip to the Epson web site and update your drivers!

I've put off updating to Windows 10 (still using 7). I wondered if many of you have updated and if you have had as many problems with it as I have heard from others.

No. No problems that are not easily resolved. Being able to resolve problems can be about the user not the technology. Windows 10 is very solid, and I have tested it very hard. More so than any other Windows version previously.

Essentially you have a simple choice. Upgrade to Windows 10 while it is free, and deal with any issues you may experience, or upgrade later and pay for the upgrade, and deal with any issues you may experience.

Do it now, or deal with the future and don't complain about it any more. And if you don't do it now, don't bitch about any related costs. You will own those....

I think all those who have as yet not upgraded to Win 10 should consider doing so. At this time it's still free for about another month. You don't even have to pay state or local taxes. After July Microsoft is going to charge for it and depending on where you live, you might also have to pay taxes. It is as has been said by many, the best OS they have come up with yet. I do think however that anyone doing so should make Shure that whatever operating system you are using is totally up to date. This can in some cases take hours, but will enable a smooth transition. Older software, contrary to what people have said will run with no problems. In some cases a little tweaking may be necessary, such as right clicking and clicking on run as and selecting.

Pretty much. Any problems to be encountered can be had for free now, or you can pay for the same problems in another month!
