So your drive is 75% full. only 25% free space. You should be thinking about clearing out some files from that drive. 30% or better will let it perform better and last longer. But I don't think it is the source of your problem.

This is purely a data drive. Windows does not reside here, and no programs use this for 'running space'. All that is on here is just data files. Keeping the capacity lower can pay dividends with a C drive, certainly, but more than 400GB free space on a data drive is ample.

How is your anti virus SW doing? There are all sorts of bad things that can infect a computer. Malware, spyware, adware, on and on. And once infected, they do bad things and can be very hard to get rid of. I had to recently reinstall Windows 10 after an infection had rendered the PC close to non-funtional. Now, the story here was that I spent hours on line with Microsoft trying to resolve the problem with no success. Then tried www.reimage.com and got one of their tech experts to look at it. He figured out how to reinstall Windows 10 without losing most of the Apps, and now it is working like a champ.

My system is protected by windows Defender, Firewall, and Malwarebytes Premium version.

Thanks for the link to reimage, though. I used them for years, but lost the program in a crash some time back, and couldn't remember the name... I was seriously thinking about trying to track them down and get it again. They saved my butt several times over the years!

I have just discovered that LR will not open, due to a corrupt catalogue... I suspect that this is because I rolled back windows restore after downloading the new release of LR. Not quite sure how to get this sorted, though...
