Re-Created paintings.
Here are a few of my attempts to recreate famous paintings......
Egon Schiele "Recumbent Female Nude with Legs Apart" (Model:Nev Sha)
Bonnard "Nude Against Daylight" (Model:Nev Sha)
Toulouse Lautrec "Toilette" (Model: Alexandria Night)
Interesting--I like the second and third ones.

James, when I was in photo school, one of the exercises that is quite common is to reproduce paintings.
In Portfolio Class one of the advanced students created a portfolio of about 6 photographs recreating the classic Dutch Masters. The classic that we see a lot is the Girl with the Pearl Earring.
Her pics were masterfully done from the type and color of the textiles to the Models looking just like the models in the paintings.
All I can say is it must have been a near overwhelming project with such detail.
Nice job on your reproductions!!

interesting and well done!
Jim, your work is a good reproduction of the paintings. I am glad you were thoughtful enough to include the painting. I think the best one is the second photo. The softness of the image gives it a painterly effect. The lighting is similar. The pose is almost identical. Eve must be a good model. The first photo, I assume, you used an editing program to get the sketch effect. It is the second place winner. The shadows in the third photo bother me. Perhaps a soft light from camera right would have helped. If that is not possible, then feather the light on the model coming behind. This is an interesting series and I am sure took a lot of work from you and the 2 models.

Most of these convince me that paintings are paintings and photographs are photographs. Number 3 in particular shows that while the pose, hair, and boots are very close, the setting is not reproduced as it was in the painting. The thing that makes the painting work for me is the colours, whereas the photo by itself without the painting is not really special. Most striking is that in the painting there is a reason for her being naked, but not in the photo.
Good work on these, really interesting and a great project, I've also recreated paintings and drawings in photographs, it's good fun doing it.
As Arte Johnson used to say on the old TV show "Laugh In"..."veddy intedesting". I like the "impressionistic" treatment of the background in #2. Nice.
