A year ago I got tangled up with adobe Flash and my computer was screwed up for months You have to be careful with these programs the try to push on you.

To all of you who hate flash so much, you are both right – and wrong. Flash is like a huge butcher's knife — It can be used for ill will all too easily. Used correctly, is safe. It WILL enable trojan horses to come in the door rather easily, so be careful what you click on in any dialogs on websites.
If you keep it up to date and NEVER allow it to control your microphone, or your camera, or to store any data on your computer, or to use peer-assisted networking, it is probably benign. I don't like it, but I keep it on my Mac in a disabled state until I come across a web site that won't work without it, and that I need to use.

Yeah, Until everyone goes over to HTML 5, I keep it "laying around" too. There are still sites that require Flash, and probably will for awhile.
