I edit many pictures using Pic Monkey.....
I have a stand alone subscription to Pic Monkey and also Pic Monkey is on Smug Mug. Yesterday I get a message that says I can not operate Pic Monkey and must install Adobe Flash... although I have been using both programs for over a year.

Ok, so I go to install Flash.... and I keep getting the message (see screen shot) that I can not install it.... I have tried multiple entry points via Safari internet....for installing Flash player.. even go to Adobe home site....and always end up with same message...
I then go to search my computer and find the uninstall button and uninstall Flash.... and then go back and try to install it again...... Same message...

I wrote to Smug Mug and they tell me to go to Pic Monkey....Pic Monkey has not responded to me.....

there are a lot of smarter folks than me on the UHH..... anyone have an idea ....

Flash Player from Adobe is in a big mess right now and nearly impossible to install it. NOT A WINDOWS 10 issue BTW. many are still using it from before the onset of this problem are not affected. Those who have the experience you have, are stuck... Simply Stuck.

I have not been able to get it back on two of my six computers at all for some time now. Not from Adobe... .Not from Nowhere!!!!

Since you are using a mac, I cannot help.

On PCs, the problem often lies in the web browsers automatically disabling flash player (FP) due to security issue and erroneously flags FP as being 'out of date'.

While on a mac, you may still want to check this setting, just in case.

What happens on a mac most of the time is that Safari needs to be shut down and restarted. That has always updated me when it was needed.

Perhaps installing another browser would work, I'm not a Mac expert, and as others have said, Flash is a hot mess right now. But there might be an alternative browser that's copacetic with Flash as it is now. Good Luck!

There have been several recent articles recommending that people remove Flash immediately, since it is a major security concern.

I heard that too regarding security on PC. The news were even saying to uninstall Adobe Flash Player.

This may be a UNIX permissions error. Macs are based on BSD UNIX. Run Disk Utility, and Repair Permissions on your startup drive. Then try re-installing.

I've seen permissions errors of all sorts, although they are rare. They have stopped Flash, Epson printer drivers, and several applications.

Also check that you are allowing Safari to run Extensions.

Adobe Flash Player has been plagued with security problems for at least a couple of years now. To help keep users safe Apple has monitored Flash and removed it if it gets out of date. I think your problem is related to that. Google Chrome comes with it's own built-in version of Flash that is not actually from Adobe, and is safer. I suggest you install Chrome and then try Pic Monkey using it and see if Google's version is compatible. If so, just use Chrome for your photo editing. When you first launch Chrome it will ask if it should be the default browser, and have a check box pre-selected. Unselect if you don't want Chrome as default, or leave checked if you do. Personally I use Firefox as my default, and Chrome if I need Flash, but it's your choice.

I knew UHH help..... and thanks to all for your replies....It is obvious to me now Flash has many problems ....and that Safari and Flash will not work together...

I have mac and have been getting messages to update it and it loads 95% and stops. Learned to ignore their BS over a year ago. Got to remember that computer do not run on logic, (should but don't, thanks to Xerox), but nerd and nerd sometimes is just that; have to be forgiving.

Flash is problematic. It has been the conveyor of much malware. Adobe keeps patching it to little avail. Google Chrome has declared it incompatible for just this reason. The Internet is transitioning to HTML 5 to get rid of Flash. I would not count on it. Pic Monkey is probably working overtime to change platforms. (I don't know that for a fact, just a good guess.)

Adobe Flash is an abomination, always has been. I say turn and run like hell from any program that requires it. Find a more intelligent alternative.

True. The virtual tour hosting company where I put my real estate photo tours just told me a month ago that they don't like Flash, it's been a problem for a long time, different versions of Flash work with their system and others don't, and they're sick of it and want better compatibility with mobile devices. So they're putting up a whole new HTML 5 system and plan on having it up by July.
