Two days ago Windows 10 decided to jump on my computer. Tried downloading some pictures. They don't download to My Pictures and then I can't transfer them to Corel Paintshop Pro X7. Would appreciate any help on this from someone who has experienced same problem. Be nice if they would leave your computer alone.

In Windows 10 the "My Pictures" folder has been replaced by "Pictures".

Yes, I am floundering in W-10 waters..... where has my long list of programs gone.... my photos have been categorized by date... thanks W-10 but at least it left my E-photos only drive alone.... BobHoco... you and I both have a cultural adjustment problem... glad I backed up my HD with W-7 on it before upping to 10

Time to do some reading on W-10 before I cry foul..... Ouch, I can remember DOS.. then Windows 1.1

If it was an unintentional update and you don't want it, Use Restore to rid yourself of it, then turn off Auto Updates. (you'll still be notified you have updates, but you get to deselect the Win 10 update File KB3035583) Then you can install GWX Control Panel from http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/ and not worry about it again.

If it was intentional, be sure to fasten your seat belt...

If you decide to keep Win 10 then go down to the start button (little windows tab , lower left corner of your screen) left click, left click file explorer about 4 lines up. A screen list that looks more (Win 7) will pop up & probably have your pics docs, etc. That's how I have been getting around since I updated. Good luck.

I hate that feature in Windows - all versions. I keep data on my D drive: My Files, My Pictures, Downloads, etc. I don't want to have to go four levels deep to look at my files.

I have been using windows 10 for some time now and don't have any problems with it but I know some folks that their Paintshop Pro didn't work. Every one that had the problem just reloaded the program and all is well. Hope that helps/

Among other things, the file browser changed with Windows 10 and it takes a little time to get used to it. I found the Quick Access section at the top of the browser window confusing at first but it does turn out to be useful.

Any folder that you use a lot should go into the Quick Access (Pin to Quick Access - a button in the toolbar near the top of the window). When you click (once) on an item in the Quick Access section it highlights that folder and scrolls to place it at the very bottom of the window - you don't need to search through multiple levels of folders to find it.

I agree Jerry. I liked W7. I upgraded because I heard rumors that eventually they would stop W7 support.

10 did an automatic update on my wife's laptop which went quick and easy. The only thing she does is email and Amazon.

I thought, "Well, try my laptop again." So, I clicked the button to upgrade.

72 hours later I closed the window with the small spinning something showing the message "Please Wait"...

Tried Win 10 and all went well until I tried to send a message in Outlook. For some reason, it did not work. Reverted back to Win 7 Pro. Still waiting to hear about that fix before trying again.

And they will drop support for Win 7 eventually as they did with XP... Seems 2 versions is the limit for support, (8 doesn't count) understandably. Although W7 support I think will be around for quite some time yet.

It happened to me also. I am in the same boat learning something new. At 72 with diminishing capacity I push to be motivated. J. R.
