After looking at all these great macros and some people saying that they do not have a macro lens, others saying that they use wide angle, and wondering about focus stacking, I decided to experiment.
The first one is using a Canon 100 mm macro at 5.6 (shallow DOF)
The second one used 3 roses with different focal points, moved to layers and flattened in PS. Do you feel the DOF is greater than in the other one?

The third one added an extension tube, 36 mm.

The 4th one is a wide angle Canon 15-55 mm lens with a 36 mm extension tube. One of our members said he uses a wide angle to get better DOF so I wanted to try it and added the ET for a greater challenge. So sorry, I can't remember who told me that. You can claim credit. I do think the DOF is greater. What do you think?

Hope this will challenge all of you to try the same or similar and see what we decide is the best way to get closer and better DOF. If you have a better way to stack, let us know. I have no idea if I did it correctly.
