What the hell are you talking about? This was part of a talk this man made to his church group and to put it into context the overall speech was promoting acceptance for those who disagree with conservatism. He was trying to say what he did he hated but he did it for all not just conservatives. I believe that same sex marriage is wrong but I dont believe there should be a law against it as it takes freedom of choice and free will away. I have gay relatives and I love them dearly that doesnt mean I have to think everything they do is right. By the way Im not even saying they are wrong Im saying according to what I believe they are wrong but I am not their judge. I want NO harm to come to any of them and I want them left alone to live according to their own beliefs. Now tell me how that makes me a bigot.

I knew the man I quoted quite well and if he was quoting someone else's work he'd have said so. BTW ole sarge for you to make the statements you made not knowing the man or anything about him says much more about you than it does him. I agree with the comments in the original post. As a veteran I can relate to every part, except taking the life of another person. As a radar operator/air traffic controller I never had to fight a battle or kill an enemy.
But I served my country for many of the same reasons; as did my grandfather, my father and my uncles, and my son.
