An interview with laurieme0w,

1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
A little less than 10 years, only a few. I took a high school photography class, and been in love with it ever since.

2) Do you have any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
Only training I have is from high school, the rest is self taught. I try to learn something new each time. I prefer the nature aspect.

3) In your opinion, what makes a good picture stand out from the rest?
The quality.

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
Can you walk us through it? I only used my Canon T5i

5) Do you post process your final images, and if so can you describe your workflow?
I'm going to say no. I have no idea. D:

6) Who or what has influenced your photography and what inspired you to take your winning shot?
I think my grandpa, who is no longer with me today. I am always looking back at old photographs. It inspires me to make more memories. Also, my Uncle Tom who told me about this place and about this site.

7) Would you change anything if you could do it again, and if so what?
Nope. Although, I wish I had better names for my photography. (:

8) What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started taking photos?
Honestly, I wish I would have paid more attention in class. I wish I would of stopped focusing so much of being in the dark room. Focused more on the digital aspect

9) What is your favorite photography accessory, other than your camera?
My tripod. I have about a billion of them.

10) If you had to choose one lens which one would it be and why?
That's a hard one, because I use them all so much. I guess, it depends on my mood, and what I am shooting.

11) What lighting equipment, if any, do you take on a shoot?
I prefer the sunlight.

12) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
I'd want to work at a dog grooming place.

13) Do you have any funny or interesting stories about your experiences?
Not really. Although, I was listening to music. More or less the radio and there was a long pause and then A man started yelling I jumped and took out my head phones quick. It was a song, and I was alone

14) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
All I have is a Facebook site. It's not much, but I would appreciate your kindness and taking time out of your day. https://www.facebook.com/namelessseattlephotography

15) Do you have any advice for the rest of us?
Don't judge yourself too harshly. That's my biggest flaw.

An interview with pithydoug,

1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
On and off for 20 years. Started in film, took a long nap with raising kids and then went back with digital.

2) Do you have any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
Self taught but tremendous guidance from a few camera clubs. Primarily landscape but dabble in macro, long exposures, some birds, with an affinity for B&W which I claim little skill but large desire.

3) In your opinion, what makes a good picture stand out from the rest?
Easier to answer the meaning of life but to over generalize, a simple composition. A visual moment in time.

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup? Can you walk us through it?
Nothing special with this shot. I was there to shoot a sunrise an greeted with total cloud cover. Rather than turn tail I tend
look at things for B&W. So many times texture, lines, etc lend themselves better in B&W. Used a tripod in the dim light.

5) Do you post process your final images, and if so can you describe your workflow?
In this case yes. I used Lightroom and kicked it into NIK Efex for B&W processing. A mixture of preset and some addition tweaking. Not being vague but a lot of sliders moved

6) Who or what has influenced your photography and what inspired you to take your winning shot?
I get a lot of support from my local camera club. We have a set of PPA folks that do professional critiquing that are invaluable. As one sits through a session where 20-30 photos are critiqued, it is a phenomenal education session.

7) Would you change anything if you could do it again, and if so what?
No really.

8) What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started taking photos?
On twenty-fifth of the composition I know today and even this is a drop in the bucket.

9) What is your favorite photography accessory, other than your camera?
Easy, my tripod especially in lower light.

10) If you had to choose one lens which one would it be and why?
My 17-40MM F/4.0 L. I don't need 2.8 for landscapes. I shoot 85% with this lens including this picture.

11) What lighting equipment, if any, do you take on a shoot?
Nature.

12) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
Serial killer? No fear, as long as my camera is still working.

13) Do you have any funny or interesting stories about your experiences?
Yes, but not for public consumption.

14) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
Not really any central place. While I have sold some some photos, money is not my goal. Photography is a labor of love not a form of income.

15) Do you have any advice for the rest of us?
If anyone wants to take their game up a notch have you photos seriously critiqued. Posting a picture in Facebook where all your friends say WOW, only means you have nice friends not necessarily a good picture.
