Nice Moon shot Craig... I'll be locked out for two weeks if the local weather forecast is correct...
extended forecast here is cloudy and rainy through the 15th of May... don't know what comes after the 15th...
extended forecast stopped on the 15th... one good thing... sometimes they are wrong... especially with long range forecasting!

P.S. Cloudy with rain right now!

Good luck with your weather Bruce , hope you can get at least one clear night.
I have clear skies for today and tonight only, that's if the Marine Layer doesn't come in.

Darken it up, add some color and stars and you will have your very own nebula!

And that...
is why I'm a one shot afectionatoad.

In the 1990's we called it "Photoshopped",
in the new millennium it's called post processed.

I was just out looking at a clear sky and lots of stars. A pretty night here.

Hey... you are the one that set your new solar scope out to conjure up your skies.
Like they say in Real Estate, it's location, location, location.

I donno...
Those clouds looked pretty determined.

Meanwhile, I have a 2X Barlow'd capture yesterday between cotton balls drifting over my house.
I'm trying to get something workable for our daytime star.
This is with my Baader filter, 2" diagonal (works best on an SCT), Orion eyepiece camera, 2X Orion 'Shorty' barlow, with my badder Ha7nm screwed in the end.
I was trying to improve my focusing... no easy task. :hunf:
Let's see how it looks online. Straight out of Sharpcap...

You see that little dark swirl in the middle?
That's a gaseous emission...
It'll curdle your lens coatings...

I turned a pen out of glow in the dark acrylic and the turnings looked so much like a galaxy I posted a shot of it on Flickr.
Just sayin I'm not above a bit of subterfuge.

Glad you have clear skies.
It snowed West of me and on the big pile of dirt to the East.
I hope this sorts out by next Monday.

Nice shot Sonny.
Best detail from your rig that I've seen.

I too had clear skies with a very modest haze.
I was at the observatory and did some shots of the Antenna Galaxy NGC 4038.
Have not processed anything yet.
I don't know if I can fish out the antennas or not they are extremely faint.
Saturn and Mars were swimming in the haze so no luck with them.
