Well, because some people here obviously do not like this Daguerrotype lens or the Petzval lenses from Lomography I want to share this picture with you. It is the Petzval 58 mm lens I used and as you all can see it kind of destroys the picture with its horrible sharpness and bad quality. Please confirm if I am right about this ;) As my subject here was not photographed for the public to recognize I am not publishing the whole image here. Have fun telling me how bad this is ;)
The best quality lens is the one that gets the results one wants. There is no universal measure of lens quality.

It's about emulating the characteristics of the lens that came with the early Daguerreotype cameras, not the process itself.
Now they have sold about |1.600 Daguerrotype lenses already in about a week. I hope you fellow hoggers jump on this deal. It is too good to miss ;)
