Thanks, MuddyValley. Really wasn't checking how far the working distances were when taking these pics. All i can tell you is that the lens is extremely close to the subjects, even the little green pit viper I photographed. Close enough that it though it could climb onto my diffuser! That katydid was about 3 inches long.
Very impressive. The daylight shots are where the lens excels. With the daytime warm temperature, it must be a real challenge to get the framing and focus correct on subjects like the snake.
