Well it is an excellent picture :)
What did you use for the backdrop and the base?

Thanks again. :)

I used a piece of black felt as the back ground, although I was very aware to keep as much light off the back ground, and I exposed to kill almost all of the ambient light.

The base was a piece of black lucite that I bought on Amazon, just for shots like this. :) I'm a sucker for reflections! lol

A stunning flower portrait, ptcanon! An enjoyable evening of shooting, for sure. What do you mean "I exposed to kill the ambient light"? How do you accomplish this?

Hi Carlysue. :)

I'm not sure if you shoot with flash at all? But when you do there are actually 2 exposures going on in one photo. The subject that will be lit by the light you are using and the ambient light exposure.

By exposing my ambient light to blackness, it ensured that only the light I was using, and therefore the subject, would be the only thing seen.

Does that make sense? lol Please feel free to ask anything at all if you don't understand or if I'm not clear. :)

Hi Carlysue. :) br br I'm not sure if you shoot ... (show quote)

Thank you so much! You explained this very well (and I'm usually pretty dense and need a visual). I will try this. Your image is impressive and you are so kind and accommodating!

You are most welcome! When I first started using flash I was afraid and freaked out. But once I got those little concepts straight its a ton of fun! :D

Let me know if I can help! :)
